The University of Fredericton (UFred) is proud to announce that it has committed to the United Nations Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI). This strategic move is a meaningful step towards promoting sustainability and responsible leadership at UFred and in the broader educational sector. As a signatory to HESI, UFred has taken a pledge to commit to pursuing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

HESI encourages universities to undertake actions such as teaching sustainable development concepts, encouraging research on sustainable development issues, greening campuses, and supporting sustainability efforts in the community.
