100,000 euros have been collected within one week in a fundraising campaign launched by IU International University of Applied Sciences (IU) in aid of the earthquake victims in the Turkish-Syrian border region.
One third of the amount is made up of donations from IU students and staff, and two thirds from a donation from the university.
The money will go to the United Nations Children's Fund UNICEF and the alliance Aktion Deutschland hilft (ADH) in equal shares.
In addition, IU is providing 100 scholarships for those affected in the earthquake areas.
