IU International University of Applied Sciences (IU) has announced the launch of the IU Innovation Award, designed to honor groundbreaking ideas in the housing and real estate sector. In partnership with meravis Immobiliengruppe, the initiative offers a total prize of 5,000 euros.
Eligibility extends to students from all universities who achieved a grade of 1.7 or better on their bachelor's or master's thesis in the past year. The award seeks pioneering solutions to the pressing challenges within the industry.
Amidst ambitious climate targets, the real estate sector is under pressure to innovate. Germany's goal of climate neutrality by 2045 demands transformative approaches in decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and community living. This award places its hopes on the inventive capabilities of up-and-coming students.
Acknowledging outstanding theses that blend theory with practice, the IU Innovation Award highlights those focusing on sustainability, digitalization, and new business models.
The award ceremony will be held on 15 May at the Real Estate Arena 2025 in Hanover, Germany, providing winners with a platform to present their ideas to industry leaders and develop professional connections.
