IU hosts children's creative contest awards for glacier preservation

Once again, IU was honoured to host the award ceremony for a children's creative competition dedicated to glacier preservation, held in the town of Bad Honnef, the birthplace of IU International University of Applied Sciences, in North Rhine Westphalia. Organised by Bad Honnef AG (BHAG), the contest invited local schoolchildren to use their artistic and creative talents to highlight the urgent need to protect our glaciers and address climate change.

Our campus provided the perfect setting for this inspiring event, welcoming enthusiastic young participants, their families, and teachers. It was a real pleasure to see such a wide variety of imaginative entries – from colourful drawings and thoughtful poems to innovative digital projects – all expressing a strong sense of environmental responsibility from an early age.

At IU, we recognise the importance of supporting initiatives that foster environmental awareness within our community. By hosting the award ceremony and joining in the celebrations, we aim to encourage young people to engage with sustainability and show that everyone, regardless of age, can make a positive difference. We are proud to offer our campus as a space where creativity and environmental commitment come together.

Congratulations to all the talented pupils who took part, and sincere thanks to BHAG for organising this wonderful event. IU remains dedicated to empowering the next generation of environmental champions and working together for a more sustainable future.
