Fostering gender diversity among IU students

IU Group, comprising institutions such as IU International University of Applied Sciences (IU), LIBF, University of Fredericton, is deeply committed to upholding a culture of inclusivity and non-discrimination across its educational offerings.

This commitment extends to all students, irrespective of their age, gender, race, nationality, country of citizenship or residence, sexual orientation, disability, or any other factors that may differentiate them.

Fostering diversity means ensuring an environment where every student feels valued and respected.

We have succeeded in achieving a praiseworthy level of representation among various categories of students. We rigorously monitor this diversity and make sustained efforts to maintain the high standard we have set.

Notably, in 2022 female students made up 62% of IU’s enrolled students, (73,869 out of 117,700).

396 students that identified as gender-diverse were studying at the IU in 2022 (0.3% of the overall student number). It is worth highlighting that the percentage of gender-diverse students at the IU is on a consistent upward trajectory, which demonstrates our dedication to embracing diversity in all its forms and providing a platform for students of varied gender identities to thrive.

Both female and gender-diverse students tend to exhibit higher retention rates when compared to their male counterparts. This may only be a short-term trend, but we will definitely continue to observe this fact.

IU Group and its institutions remain steadfast in their commitment to creating an educational ecosystem that celebrates diversity, ensures non-discrimination, and empowers all students to reach their full potential.
